Sue’s Imaginarium is an informal education framework focused on character education, social-emotional learning, and life skills development for children and adolescents.

While formal education systems excel at academic instruction, they often leave critical gaps in social, emotional, and character formation. Many children progress through school academically prepared, yet socially and emotionally underprepared for the realities of life, relationships, and responsible citizenship.

Sue’s Imaginarium exists to address this gap.

The work is grounded in three core pillars.

First, the problem:
Modern education systems prioritise academic outcomes while overlooking the development of emotional intelligence, social skills, responsibility, and identity. These omissions have long-term consequences for individuals and communities.

Second, the approach:
Sue’s Imaginarium uses informal, story-based, and culturally grounded education to build social-emotional competencies and life skills. Through storytelling, creative resources, and reflective learning tools, complex concepts such as empathy, accountability, resilience, and decision-making are made accessible and meaningful to young people.

Third, the global relevance:
Education is not only about curriculum delivery; it is about human formation. Character, values, and social responsibility are essential to sustainable societies. When children are equipped with emotional literacy, cultural awareness, and a sense of responsibility, they are better prepared to participate as active, ethical global citizens.

Sue’s Imaginarium aligns closely with global education priorities, including Social and Emotional Learning (SEL), Global Citizenship Education (GCED), and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). It contributes to ongoing conversations about holistic education, inclusion, and the future readiness of young people.

Through thought leadership, educational resources, and practical frameworks, Sue’s Imaginarium advocates for an expanded understanding of education — one that recognises informal learning as a powerful and necessary complement to formal systems.

Helping Kids Understand Their Identity in Christ.

Every child is born with questions about who they are, why they exist, and what makes them valuable. In today’s world—where children are constantly exposed to social pressure, comparison, shifting trends, and confusing messages about worth—it’s more important than ever to give them a strong, unshakable foundation. That foundation is identity in Christ . When a child knows who they are in God, they grow with confidence, emotional stability, wisdom, and purpose. Their value becomes rooted not in achievements, appearance, or approval, but in God’s unchanging truth. This article will guide you step-by-step on how to help your child understand their identity in Christ. What Is Identity? Identity is the understanding of who you are —your values, your beliefs, your sense of self, your purpose, your character, and the truth you build your life upon. It shapes how you see yourself, how you respond to challenges, and how you interact with the world. Identity answers questions like: ...

Teaching Children Spiritual Discernment : A Practical Guide for Raising Wise, Grounded, and Spiritually Aware Children

Every parent has had that moment. Your child asks a question that catches you off guard. “Why do people say this is okay?” “Why do my friends believe that?” “Why does this feel wrong even though everyone is doing it?” Those moments are not interruptions. They are invitations. They are signs that your child is beginning to think, feel, and question beyond surface-level answers. And what they are really asking for is discernment — the ability to tell what is right, what is wise, and what aligns with truth. Spiritual discernment is not something children magically develop with age. It is something that must be taught, modelled, practised, and nurtured intentionally. When children lack discernment, they follow voices instead of values. When they develop discernment, they learn to pause, reflect, and choose wisely — even when no one is watching. What Spiritual Discernment Really Is Spiritual discernment is the ability to recognise truth, identify wisdom, and sense what ali...
